Overview

If you fancy yourself a bit of a night owl, you may be interested in immersive, after-hours series, Late Night Art. For one night only art exhibitions will be open later than usual until 9pm during Artweek. Jump from show to show and finish your evening with a chaser from one our late night eats recommendations.

Street Wisdom is a tour of the city by night with a guided CD created by Splice. The experience will also be accompanied with live poets and buskers along the journey. As the name suggests, Ice-Encased Flowers is a flower and ice installation by botanical artists at Roma Blooms.

streetARTdego is a micro-festival within the event where food trucks pair up with local artists for a curated mashup of art and food. Held across Te Hā o Hine, this year's offering will see five street food chefs and five contemporary artists unite to create a unique menu and art experience.

Chancery Square will come to life with Atomic Forest. The exhibition will see 11 of New Zealand's finest illustrators come together for an evening of post-apocalyptic, pop-art.

A giant poi will appear in Aotea Square. Inspired by the vision of artist Mei Hill in her glass exhibition Poi Poi Poi, this creative fusion combines the skills of Mei along with Olivia Haddon, weaver Tania Remana and light artist Angus Muir. Kapa haka performances will kick off from 6pm.

Further highlights of Late Night Art include: a tour of Artweek by cycle, a gathering of illustrators for an exhibition of post-apocalyptic pop-art, drop-in life drawing.
