Overview

Following festival performances at WOMAD NZ and overseas, Wellington producer and multi-instrumentalist Lord Echo (aka Mike Fabulous) brings his new album Harmonies to Auckland's Hollywood Cinema in November.

Former member of roots-reggae group The Black Seeds, Mike Fabulous has been making music for over 20 years. Upon going solo, Fabulous embarked on a project called Lord Echo —  Harmonies is his final album of a trilogy of albums following Curiosities (2013) and Melodies (2010).

For the celebratory album tour he'll be joined on stage by five stellar musicians: Lisa Tomlins, Mara TK, Lucien Johnson, Daniel Hayles and Izak Chads.

Fabulous blends together dub-reggae, Caribbean disco and rhythms of the 60s while remaining true to himself and incorporating touches of his favourite styles — disco, soul and jazz.

Support from The All Seeing Hand and DJ Manuel Bundy with live visuals by Erika Sklenars and 35mm shorts, trailers and curiosities selected by Hollywood Cinema. There will be beer by Garage Project, juices and cocktails by Almighty and food by Wise Boys. Hollywood Cinema is a mixture of general admission standing and seating. Seating is first come, first served.
