Overview

As a young person, you are not only navigating all of the superficial stuff life throws at you, but you are also dealing with complex emotional issues - worthy of any good coming of age story - for the first time.

The story of Lupe and Mark is one that begins with the death of their father; dance, theatre show MOVE explores the complexity that unfolds from here. Directed by two of New Zealand's premier talents, Iaheto Ah Hi (Sione's Wedding, Tautai, Plantation) and Leilani Clarke (Running with the Bulls), this is not only the story of two brothers, it is about those who are there for them and the struggles of life.

Mark's story is just as much about his boyfriend Diamond, who helps him through his grief. The victim of online bullying because of his sexuality, Diamond keeps it from Mark to shield him but is ultimately thrown into a dark world filled with suicidal thoughts.

Visual artists from Mangere, Cee Palalagi and Onesian have provided the moving image and costumes for the show, known for their urban influenced visuals, expect a feast for the eyes.

A hard-hitting show tackling the complexities of life, this will no doubt be a beautiful display of creativity.
