Overview

In 2012, Harrison Mills (Catacombkid) and Clayton Knight (Beaches Beaches) formed Odesza soon after graduating from Western Washington University. The band's name is a misspelling of the Hungarian spelling of the city of Odessa in Ukraine (actually spelt Odessza) and the name of the sunken ship which only Mills' uncle and one other crew mate were able to escape from and survive.

Since their formation, the duo have been prolific, with their debut album Summer's Gone being released the very same year as the band's formation, followed by their first EP, My Friends Never Die, the very next year and their second studio album, In Return, in 2014.

In amongst this spurt of creativity, Odesza built themselves a name in the electronica music scene as well as clocking performing slots at Coachella, SXSW, Governor's Ball, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza and finally a couple of Grammy nominations.
