Overview

For 36 years, the flickering neon sign of Auckland's Real Groovy has acted as a beacon for music lovers. Surviving the dawn of the digital download and multiple moves, it has become a stalwart of our music scene. With a quarter acre dedicated to all things physical format, the independent spirit of Record Store Day is already soaked into Real Groovy's bricks and mortar.

Between 9am and 7pm on 21 April, Real Groovy will be opening its doors for a day of exclusive releases, deals and the chance to win a new audio system or pair of Vans.

If that's not enough, this free event will showcase some of our best emerging artists. These include indie pop outfit Polyester, rock 'n' roll rascals Bloodbags, post punk darlings Wax Chattels, the finest punk band to come out of Wellington in ages, Unsanitary Napkin, and the saviours of hip-hop in Aotearoa, SWIDT. If you're needing sustenance throughout the day, Brothers Beer, Atomic Coffee, Tom & Luke, Proper Crisps and Red Bull will be on hand to keep you fed and watered.

Keep up to date with all the details including set times and other announcements via the Real Groovy Facebook event
