Sean John Donnely’s (SJD) forthcoming show at Whammy Bar will be his first since celebrating the release of his seventh album Saint John Divine earlier this year. Continuing the trend of receiving critical praise, the album was given a five star review from Russell Baillie at the Herald for its rich arrangements. He simply called it, “captivating.”

Further album’s in SJD’s celebrated catalogue include the 2012 Taite Music Prize winning release Electric Wasteland, Southern Lights and Songs from a Dictaphone.

For his latest performance, Donnely will grace the stage with his long time band made up of Sandy Mill, James Duncan, Chris O’Connor and Mike Hall, plus recent addition Claire Cowan. Together they will touch on highlights of the new album as well as some of the classic SJD tunes.

The night will also see the debut performance of The Impending Adorations, the electronically synthesized brainchild of local composer Paul McLaney.
