Stone Soup is a free independent street press that offers a fresh take on food publishing, without advertising. Running on the support of generous readers, editions are simply released when there's enough money to print.
In line with the launch of Stone Soup Vol. 6, the initiative will host its next fundraising bash on 24 June. Held at The Cross Street Market from 1-7pm, there will be oysters galore; crew from Apero and Welcome Eatery will take over the Mahurangi Oyster caravan, there will be shucking lessons, plus oyster po' boys crafted by Leisha Jones of Club Sandwich.
Also on the cards: low 'n' slow barbecue from Morepork BBQ, vegetarian soul food by Ginny Grant and Fiona Smith, rum and chai hot toddies, natural wines and Sawmill beer.
The soundtrack will be provided by DJs Goldenmayne, Forrest Bump and Tom Scott of YGB.
