Formed in 2015 to conquer the traditional choral hymns of Silo Theatre production The Events, The Stimmung Choir are about to embark on their debut solo performance.
Not ones to take on a light task, the ensemble will hit the stage at Auckland's Q Theatre to reimagine Radiohead's iconic album Hail to the Thief in its entirety. The album is the sixth from the influential British group, and a release commended for frontman Thom Yorke's lyrics in response to the War on Terror and the resurgence of right-wing politics in the west. Singles include 'There There', 'Go to Sleep' and '2 + 2 = 5'.
Stimmung Choir's recreation will feature original arrangements by Robin Kelly and Tom Broome, with special guest performances from Esther Stephens and Laughton Kora.
