Street food vendors Las Masitas can usually be found serving up a contemporary take on traditional Mesoamerican tamales around city markets. In line with their plant-based ethos, the pair has launched a market dedicated to vegetarian/vegan eateries with an overarching theme of zero waste.

Ubuntu is an all-day affair. The first outing for 2018 will take place from 11am to 7pm this Sunday 14 January in the space behind Dominion Road's The Midnight Baker. The name translates from an African philosophy meaning 'community' and 'humanity towards others'.

On offer will be local favourites like plant-based burger makers Wise Boys, smoothie and coffee truck Otherside, Las Masitas, Organic Knowledge Popcorn and Lalele Organic Gelato. There will also be craft stalls, sustainability workshops, tarot readings and African drumming.
