Burger Burger's Humongous New Creation Is Fit for Four People

It's usually customary to celebrate your birthday with cake and candles, but Auckland burger joint Burger Burger is honouring its fifth year on the planet with something entirely different — a humongous burger fit for four people.

The undisputed heavyweight of burgers, the Giant Birthday Burger, is not your average slaphappy, handheld beef and bun. For its $69 price tag, the head-size creation comes loaded with an 850-gram free-range beef patty, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, cos lettuce, fresh tomatoes, red onion, pickles, tomato jam, mustard, mayonnaise, and a measure of shoestring fries. You can either wrangle friends for a slice of the burger or tackle the whole darn thing yourself if you're feeling super ravenous.

And because birthdays are all about dessert, Burger Burger will also be offering a sweet collaboration with DOE Donuts. The Party In Your Mouth celebratory doughnut is filled with Duck Island boysenberry cheesecake ice cream, whipped cream and gooey raspberry sauce and is topped with burnt butter frosting and, of course, a sparkling party candle. Available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only from 5—28 April.
