Lowbrow's flagship eatery opened inside elevated dining hall Queen's Rise last year, quickly becoming a destination for sandos, buckets of free-range wings, soft-serve sundaes and fried birthday cake.

The second location of the highbrow fast-food eatery opened this month in the former home of Egg & Spoon, which has since moved to Ponsonby Road. Owners Kyle Street and Jordan Macdonald have redesigned the small shopfront in K'Road's St Kevins Arcade and a pre-existing florist stand at the centre of the communal area to create a full-service seated bar where they will be slinging low intervention wine and craft beer from Sawmill, Garage Project and Brothers Beer.

The menu retains the same quirky items that have made Lowbrow a favourite with the inner city crowd. From 10.30am until late diners can wolf back nacho fried pickles, firecracker wings, chicken nuggets, pull-apart garlic bread and the full range of sandos — from the brisket-filled Macdaddy to cornflake fried chicken. Drool over the full St Kevins Arcade menu here.

As a celebratory opening special, the eatery is offering $20 jugs of beer and eight-wing buckets. The opening hours at the Queens Rise location have also been changed to fall in line with the new K' Road spot. Both will be serving up the goods from 10.30am until late, seven days a week.
