Overview

With current property prices at an all time high, it's no wonder Auckland city has seen a rise in small, Off-Off-Queen Street cafes, bars and restaurants. Utilising compact spaces has now become a necessity and Nice Day is no exception. The pet project of the fine folk at Material Creative, Nice Day spans just seven square meters and embraces the old adage that less really is more.

Located in the heart of the CBD, this hole-in-the-wall cafe contains everything you want in your local coffee house; an outdoor deck with a blossoming urban garden, delectable delicacies delivered fresh each day from The Little Cake Kitchen, and a neon pink coffee machine. Fitted with an aesthetic reminiscent of Melbourne laneways or exposed-brick New York, it’s a great place to go to escape the weekday hustle.

Take a small detour from the daily commute and head to Durham Lane to enjoy some quality conversation with the baristas and some outdoor banter with a companion on the deck. For those that favour the savoury, get yourself a bacon and egg brioche and a Coffee Supreme espresso and you won't be disappointed.
