Stanley’s

Stanley's is one of our new favorites and one worth the trip.

Overview

We knew Stanley’s was a place we’d have to try after spotting a full house every weekend since the cafe opened its doors on Labour weekend. Nestled in a group of shops slightly off the beaten track, Stanley’s calls Milford home and has already earned itself a loyal local following.

The rustic yet modern all-white space is brought to life with carefully curated details from the light fittings sourced in Napier to the industrial furnishings.

Thanks to the three business partners’ food styling background, this attention to detail is extended to the food. Thoughtful touches like orange juice being served in old milk bottles with candy striped straws and make your own mocha iced coffees where you’re invited to mix and match ingredients to your personal taste.

The menu matches traditional brunch and lunch favorites with bespoke creations like their signature dishes the colcannon with poached eggs and hollandaise and the savory piejar mince.

Careful thought and consideration has been put into creating this menu to ensure quality ingredients. In Lynley’s own words: “We’re really fussy - if something’s not right, we send it back as we want the best for our customers.”

Stanley’s offers a full cabinet of sweet and savoury delights which are all baked on site. And the coffee is nothing short of sublime. Not a well-kept secret at this stage as they make up to 350 cups a day.

Stanley’s set out to create a friendly neighborhood local and in just a few short months it’s done just that with regulars popping in as many as three times a day. One of our new favorites and one worth the trip.
