Soothe your mind, body and soul between flights.

Travellers through Hong Kong airport now have a way to soothe the mind, body and soul between flights — and perhaps even ward off the dreaded deep-vein thrombosis. Following the launch of dedicated inflight meditation and yoga videos last year, Cathay Pacific is bringing the wellness practices back down to earth by opening The Sanctuary by Pure Yoga.

The 65sqm area found inside The Pier Business Class lounge is divided into two zones, including The Body Sanctuary, which is dedicated to yoga, and The Mind Sanctuary, where travellers can meditate to focus and calm the mind.

The Body Sanctuary provides travellers with a space for yoga asanas through guided videos. There's also a secluded space for those more advanced in the art of bending and seated stretching. The exercises are designed to improve circulation, enhance joint mobility and relax the mind for a comfortable and restful journey.

Within The Mind Sanctuary there are two types of meditation on offer. The first is guided audio meditation featuring cushioned pods equipped with noise-cancelling headphones and iPads. The second is a cushioned area to facilitate the Trataka gazing meditation practice.

To help travellers properly refuel, the lounge — one of seven in the airport — also offers a noodle bar, deli-style food hall and teahouse with traditional Chinese tea varieties.

The Sanctuary is open to travellers who have access to Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Class Lounge at Hong Kong Airport, as well as Diamond, Gold and Silver Marco Polo Club members.
