Racking up hours at the gym for the perfect festie bod has long been apart of the Rhythm and Vines experience — so much so that 'Shredding for Rhythm' has become one of the festival's unofficial slogans.

It hasn't been an easy ride; festival-goers have previously been left by themselves to unearth their spectacular washboards. So, good news then for those attending this year's sell-out edition that a training partner has landed in the form of the Shredding for Rhythm workout program.

In line with Auckland community gym Ludus Magnus, the Shredding regime is an online workout and nutrition program leading up to the big shirtless reveal in December. Those who sign up for the six-week program will be given daily workouts and a weekly challenge that can be done anywhere and anytime. The flexibility of the program means that it will predominantly be made up of bodyweight exercises. It also caters to all fitness levels and comes complete with a basic nutrition plan. There will be prizes for the biggest shred.

Shredding for Rhythm officially starts on November 13 and runs through until December 25 — just in time for protein loading over Christmas. The program is not entirely restricted to festival-goers and would suit those simply looking to get in shape for the holiday season.

The 15th annual Rhythm and Vines will take place at Gisborne's Waiohika Estate from December 29-31. A handful of single day passes are still available. Nab them over here
