Brisbane’s New Farm Park truly is the ultimate mecca for dog-lovers, and the nearby Watt restaurant is no exception. Tucked underneath the Brisbane Powerhouse, here you’ll find families and pups for as far as the eye can see. Order some grazing platters over the bar, and nab a spot on one of the communal dining tables. We’re big fans of the fried zucchini flowers and the cured meat and salumi board (preferably washed down with a bottle of chilled rosé). Expect a warm, community atmosphere at Watt — strangers will probably ask to say hi to your pup. Which is no surprise, as he’s so damn handsome.

Darling & Co starts serving breakfast from 6.30am on weekends, meaning that you won’t have to forgo your usual Sunday morning dog-walking routine. Dogs are invited to sit alongside their owners at the tables lining the street, plus there are plenty of lush grassed areas just screaming out to be sniffed. We suggest ordering a couple of Loaded Cob Loaves for the table and letting your two-legged friends loose. While you demolish the triple-cheese stuffed bread, think of ol’ Fido and maybe give him a little snack, too.

Southside dog-lovers, rejoice. The husband-and-wife-team behind Little Black Pug Café are the proud parents of (you guessed it) two sweet pugs. This pawesome duo, Bowie and Mate, make regular appearances at the cafe (usually once or twice a week depending on their demanding nap schedules). In addition to these tiny heart-breakers, the food menu at Little Black Pug Cafe is also canine-themed. We’re talking Woofles, Pug’s Toast and the Good Boy Bowl. For the fluffster in your life, there are puppachinos and dog-friendly meatballs. It’s not uncommon for the pups to outnumber the humans at the kerbside tables, which is clearly a very ideal ratio.
