It's a good year to be a fan of Sir David Attenborough, particularly if you live in Brisbane. Live concert tours of Planet Earth II, complete with a live score and Eric Bana offering narration, are just the beginning.
If that's not enough Sir Dave-themed action, The Brightside has started throwing shindigs dedicated to everyone's favourite broadcaster and naturalist. Unsurprisingly, the first one was a hit, so they're doing it all over again — and, taking place on August 17, it's a polar party.
It's certainly one of their most intriguing ideas to date, and one that'll have you staring at the venue's big screens, which'll be playing nature docos all evening. And really, isn't that a great idea for a night out? Watching cute arctic critters while having a few drinks — what more could you want?
If you do want more, there'll be tunes spun by local DJs, so expect animal-themed titles to get a whirl. There'll also be a life-sized Dave, ready to be snapped, plus prizes for best costumes. It all starts from 10pm, with tickets costing $12.75 — and a portion of the proceeds going to the Australian Marine Conservation Society.
