First it was Korean food, then it was ramen and sake, and now the folks at Nom Nom have turned their attention to bao.

Quietly launching back in August, but celebrating its official opening on Friday, September 7, Nom Nom Bao will join Nom Nom Korean Eatery and Nom Nom Ramen & Sake in Bakery Lane. Thanks to its name, you know what's on the menu: fluffy, stuffed bite-sized buns.

Patrons can not only feast on savoury varieties — including pork belly with hoisin sauce, galbi beef with kimchi slaw, fried chicken teriyaki and miso cured cod — but also on a dessert bao made with ice cream and seasonal fruit. To wash it all down, there's Green Beacon beer on tap, plus cocktails, wine and bubble tea.

And, as the Nom Nom crew did when they added ramen to the mix, Nom Nom Bao's opening festivities will also include a free feed. Just head by at 6pm on Friday, September 7, with the first 100 people nabbing a free chicken, pork or vegetarian bao. Getting in early is recommended, as there's a limit of one per person.

Find Nom Nom Bao in Bakery Lane, 680 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley. Visit the eatery's website and Facebook page for further details.
