Bagels n Banter - CLOSED

Three words: French toast bagels.

Overview

Have you ever had French toast... in bagel form? Even if you have, it's the kind of tasty delight that you'll want to eat over and over again. Don't worry, Gaythorne's new cafe has you covered. And if you want to chat about their bagel-centric menu, they have that covered as well.

You don't call a place Bagels n Banter without serving up the former and expecting the latter, of course. As far as the food is concerned, fans of the city's other baked, round treat — and of bread-and-filling combos of a different kind, too — won't be disappointed.

The Sweet Bagel French Toast is just one of the Samford Road establishment's five brekkie options, with scrambled egg and prosciutto, and bacon, cranberry sauce and brie, among the other highlights. Or, keep things local for lunch with a quintet of choices all named after Brissie suburbs. If Lutwyche doesn't already make you think of pastrami, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and pickles, it will after a trip to this quaint eatery — and the same with Ashgrove and mesclun, bacon and tomato, and Enoggera with turkey and apple sauce.
