Overview

Not all hole-in-the-wall cafes are created equal — and that's a good thing. Some, like Charlie Cools Coffee, seem much bigger than their modest space. The secret: funky décor and a menu that keeps you coming back for more.

A mural of Peanuts' Charlie Brown is the first thing to greet you as you approach the Montague Street spot, so that's the first part of the equation covered. An inviting mix of greenery and woodwork, plus other Snoopy-oriented artwork, fits the bill as well. And yes, the sight of the famous canine means that your pet pooch is welcome.

When it comes to the all-important caffeine and snacks, Charlie Cools also delivers. The fact that they operate out of the front of Brisbane-focused designer showcase Your Locals Club gives away their focus, as does a food and drink selection that features coffee from Bear Bones Espresso and sweet treats from Zoe’s Brownies. Whether you're after a breakfast pick-me-up or an afternoon snack, both hit the spot. If you live in West End, we think you're going to be dropping in here quite a lot.
