Overview

When a Brisbane institution moves from their long-time home, checking out their fresh digs is a must. And when said eatery serves some of the best Italian in town, you'd best rush. Bulimba's Otello on Oxford has become West End's Otello Trattoria Pizzeria; however the name and location are the only things changing. Those seeking the same classic cuisine in a brand new spot won't be disappointed.

As the moniker suggests, pizzas are in focus, whether you prefer your wood-fired, topping-laden doughy goodness le rosse (with San Marzano tomatoes) or le bianche (without San Marzano tomatoes). The calzone also gets a look in, with the classico's combination of tomatoes, mozzarella, leg ham and parmesan combining simplicity with scrumptiousness.

Handmade pasta and desserts have long proven Otello's other specialties, the former available in extra delicious, made-to-share dishes, and the latter spanning everything from traditional tiramisu to palette-cleansing Italian lemon sorbet. Come for the new decor, stay for more Italian tastiness than you can ever hope for — and then plan your return visit.
