Overview

While many may associate Italy's ancient history with that of the Romans, the National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari displays ancient artefacts that predate Roman time by millennium.

The museum houses ancient objects from early Neolithic times to those of the Bronze and Iron Ages and the Phoenician and Roman eras.

The obscure Nuraghic culture of Sardinia is highlighted here with an important collection of bronzetti (bronze figurines) and a series of large figures known as the Giganti di Monte Prama.
