Fisherman's Bastion

Overview

For a unique view of Budapest, look no further than Fisherman's Bastion. Constructed over 17 years between 1895 and 1902, it is one of the city's most popular attractions.

Named after the mediaeval guild of fishermen who once defended this section of the castle wall, its seven elegant turrets symbolise the Magyar tribes' arrival in the Carpathian Basin in the late ninth century.
