The You Yangs
These distinctive granite peaks are perfect for bushwalking, picnics and even mountain biking.
Overview
Less than an hour's drive from Geelong is the magnificent You Yangs Regional Park. Known for its distinctive granite peaks and panoramic views of Melbourne and Geelong, the park also boasts over 50 kilometres of purpose-built mountain biking trails for all levels, walking paths (you can even book into a Parks Victoria volunteer-led walk) and three dedicated horse riding tracks.
Speaking of animals, the You Yangs is a great spot for wildlife spotting — over 200 species of birds have been recorded here, while native Australian flora and fauna are also supported by the park.
