Two New Off-Grid Tiny Homes Have Arrived in the Victorian Countryside
Named Sancho and Phoebe, the secluded miniature homes are now taking bookings for your next getaway
If you're due for a break from the city life and are looking to launch yourself into the wilderness this winter, there are a couple of sweet little characters named Sancho and Phoebe that you might just want to meet.
Each boasting their own unique personality, these little guys are the latest eco-friendly tiny homes from the crew at NSW's In2TheWild Tiny Holidays. Now with ten signature mini escapes located across its home state, In2TheWild has ventured south, launching Sancho as its first Victorian edition, with Phoebe to follow come August.
Designed with a minimal environmental footprint and positioned in idyllic, natural surrounds, the off-grid homes are out to offer an antidote to hectic city life. With a lot of people working harder, and longer, hours, the tiny homes provide a chance to switch off, take a break from the grind and get back in touch with nature.
Sancho is nestled among secluded bushland in Hepburn Shire, about a 90-minute drive northwest of the CBD, while Phoebe is set to make her debut on a hilltop near the town of Alexandra, a two-hour drive north of the city.
Each house features all the mod-cons necessary for a comfy countryside escape. The new tiny house design boasts a queen bed next to big windows overlooking lush green views, as well as a single loft bed for an extra guest. They're also decked out with heating, a fully equipped kitchen and a proper bathroom, complete with hot shower, toilet and basin.
An outdoor campfire, barbecue and picnic table mean the outside space also doubles as an extended living area. It's all powered by the sun and a couple of gas bottles, but you'll find books, boardgames, towels, linen and a USB charger to see you comfortably through your stay.
To help you really unplug, the exact locations of In2TheWild's tiny homes are shared just a few days before your stay — and they have little-to-no reception. However, they've all been carefully located to optimise that dose of Mother Nature, with easy access to activities like mountain biking, hiking, fishing and canoeing.
Sancho is located in Hepburn Shire and is taking bookings, starting from $199 per night midweek, with a minimum two-night stay. And Phoebe is now also available to book, for stays from August 2 onwards. She'll set you back $175 per night midweek, or $199 per night on weekends, with a minimum two-night stay.
