Lough Erne Islands

Overview

Lough Erne is a striking body of water in the heart of Northern Ireland. It is actually two lakes connected by the River Erne—the Lower Lough and Upper Lough. Speckled throughout these lakes, you'll discover a series of islands that make for an enthralling boat trip.

Devenish Island offers a sixth-century monastic site, while mysterious stone statues dating back to the Iron Age dot Boa Island, including one that may represent a two-faced Celtic deity.
