Overview

Monsterella's BYO magic has lit up Wembley, and it's woodfiring its way to the absolute top. Situated on the corner of Grantham and Jersey streets, this suburban pizza joint exudes relaxed vibes and caters to all — it's BYO, open seven days a week, delivers to nearby suburbs and has gluten-free pies. Yep, owners Tania Nicolo and Ryan Bookless have all bases well and truly covered. Naming the restaurant after their daughter — the way she pronounced mozzarella as "monsterella" — it's clear family matters here and from the high chairs to the colouring-in sheets, you're littlies will be looked after.

The restaurant's simple yet stylish interior features white walls with splashes of teal and a pizza oven centrepiece where the magic happens. The pies have a sturdy base and can be eaten with hands, family style, we suggest tucking into the Milliano (featuring buffalo mozzarella, Italian fennel sausage, caramelised onions, oregano topped with pecorino and truffle oil) and Capri (fior de latte, leg ham, mushrooms, grilled artichokes and black olives) for an authentic Italiano experience.

A booking is an absolute must at this suburban gem, and if you can squeeze in its hand-cut truffled pappardelle with a side of rocket, parmesan and walnut salad, your soul will be theirs for life. Nicolo's mother makes the handmade pasta daily and you can taste the love in every bite.
