Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari
Swim with dolphins, fur seals and sea lions — and, if you're lucky, spot whales, too.
Overview
If you're arriving at Kangaroo Island by ferry, you'll get into Penneshaw — and from there you can head straight to Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari, located about 500 metres from the terminal. The tour company offers 75-minute sea safaris (from $88), where you'll cruise the high seas in search of wild dolphins, fur seals and sea lions. From May through October you may even see a few whales, if you're lucky. If you'd rather dive into the ocean, it also has two-hour snorkelling safaris (from $110), where you'll swim with the seals and dolphins. You'll be provided with wetsuits, masks, snorkels and fins, too. Or, if you're a high-flyer, you can opt for the one-day air safari, which departs from McLaren Vale and drops you in Kangaroo Island where you can then explore the oceans and swim sea animals; however it'll cost you a cool $967 per person.
