Overview

While Sardinia may be known for its glimmering beaches, a short trip inland will find you at the UNESCO World Heritage site Barumini Nuraxis, a prehistoric archaeological site dating back to the Bronze Age.

The impressive circular stone structures are no small feat, with the main Su Nuraxi tower reaching a height of 18 metres. How Bronze Age peoples constructed this important site remains a mystery. It is an intriguing and eye-opening cultural site you should add to your itinerary.
