Cagliari Cathedral
A visit to Sardinia's famous monument dedicated to the Virgin Mary is a must.
Overview
A trip to Italy isn't complete without a visit to one of its many incredible cathedrals, and the Cagliari Cathedral is undoubtedly a sight to behold.
Located in the Sardinian capital, this cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Cecilia and currently is the seat of the archbishop of Cagliari.
Originally built in the 13th century, its unique structure was originally designed to emulate the shape of a Latin cross with three naves off the main worship space. Over the years, many restorations have culminated in a cathedral with romanesque and baroque architectural influences.
