Overview

Station Gallery has been wowing the crowds in Melbourne with its conceptually driven exhibitions since 2011, but it took a further eight years before it also pitched up in the NSW capital. As outlined on its website, the gallery has "the aim of fostering rigorous, critically engaged contemporary art practices" — and to look at the work it has put on over its lifetime, you have to say that it has accomplished that mission.

The Sydney arm is housed in a Victorian terrace building featuring new works on a four-week cycle. Accordingly, whether your passion is sculpture, photography, expressionist paintings or something entirely different, there'll always be something on the agenda to pique your interest.
