There's a Pop-Up Sauna in Redfern and We've Got Spots to Give Away

There are many, many health benefits to getting your sweat on.

You might think saunas are just about sitting around semi-nude and getting sweaty, but the health benefits of the sweat bath are plentiful. Not only does sitting in a hot room increase circulation to reduce muscle fatigue, it also eases arthritis pain and even lowers the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. Plus, the relaxation you get from sitting in a sauna is akin to yoga, just without the bending.

The Australian Sweat Bath Association, a not-for-profit member of the International Sauna Association, are teaming up with our mates at Workshop this week to promote the benefits of sauna culture in Australia — particularly, its capacity to alleviate stress, distress and other forms of disaffection. At Workshop's How to Sauna Like a Boss class on Saturday, April 22 in Redfern, participants will get a cheeky run-down on all things sauna, including an outline on the goals and campaigns of ASBA. After that, you'll get down to your swimmers and head into a portable, wood-heated sauna tent for a bit of relaxation time.

The art of chilling out is heating up. As such, we're giving away places in the sauna class — and we're the only ones doing it. All you've got to do is plug your details in below, and you'll go into the draw to win a place at this Concrete Playground x Workshop exclusive sauna event. Oh, there will also be light refreshments from Young Henrys to take the edge off. Saunas and beer — what could be better?
