Overview

Our yearly sweet treat, the New Zealand Chocolate Festival, is back again this week, with another choc-o-block program. This means the tasty centrepiece of the festival, the Grand Exhibition, will also be back this weekend at Te Papa.

Simply titled Chocolates of New Zealand, the exhibition is a sweet smorgasbord of everything local and cocoa. Here, you can meet New Zealand's finest chocolatiers and treat yourself to their creations. There will be plenty of demonstrations to watch and samples to try. You will also be able to buy directly from the source, which is a perfect way to stock up your pantry, or sweeten up someone's week. Local favourites like, Wellington Chocolate Factory, The Chocolate BarŌ Chocolate and Shoc, will be showcasing their best blocks alongside some special festival treats. Cocoa artisans, Swiss Bliss and She Universe, will also be showing off some of their must-try, award-winning chocolates. And for even more delicate dessert options, Lashings and Pasteleria Sans Revival, will be offering chocolate baked treats.

With so much on offer you will be sure to leave the exhibition with bellies and shopping bags full. If you're looking for a second helping, check out the other festival events, which include masterclasses, tours and degustation menus to sink your teeth into.
