Overview

The NZSO, New Zealand's auditory master chefs, are stepping out of the concert hall to cook up a diverse and unique repertoire in Shed 6, Wellington's most intimate venue for moving, grooving and enjoying a tipple.

Projection, the NZSO's third concert in their well-regarded Shed Series, is a whirlwind of twists and surprises, mixing the contemporary sounds of John Zorn with Mozart's intricate and well-loved themes.

Zorn is the most eclectic of composers, featuring chamber music, film scores, music for cartoons, and punk. Perhaps best known for inspired improvisations (check out this clip of John jamming with Yoko Ono), he's also celebrated for epic, diverse compositions about human conflict and culture. The fusion of John Zorn, and the intricacy and grandeur of Mozart, make for an inspired and unique evening.

Bring your mates along for some relaxation, a good boogie, and feel free to enjoy the first class bar serving drinks all night long. This evening is sure to impress both jazz novices and enthusiasts alike.
