Wellington readers, creators and fans of zines will be pleased to note a new date on Wellington's zine calendar, with a mid-winter market this weekend to supplement the annual Zine Fest later in the year. The Winter Zine Market will take over Thistle Hall's upper space, with over thirty zine makers sprawling their work across table tops for the afternoon.
Come down for a browse, conversation or shy sideways glance with like-minded enthusiasts and meet the creative folk behind up and coming zines and established talents alike, including Bryce Galloway, Claire Harris, Michael Sanders, Vincent Conrad and Kemi & Niko. The Winter Zine Market promises plentiful opportunity to pick up the latest print, find a back issue or discover a new favourite zine from a multitude of self-published work across a broad range of genres, including comic zines, art zines, poetry, hobby and political zines. The world is your oyster.
Stop in and say hello at the Winter Zine Market, this Saturday 18 July from 12.00pm to 5.00pm, up the stairs at Thistle Hall on the corner of Cuba and Arthur Street. Free entry. Be sure to bring cash as eftpos at all stalls is unlikely, smaller denominations usually appreciated.
