Overview

It's surprising what you can fit into your lunch hour: a run around the waterfront that'll invigorate you for that 4pm meeting, a yin yoga class to stretch and soothe you, or a lunchtime talk to inspire and jolt you out of your workaday thoughts.

Each Monday lunchtime Te Papa hosts novelists, playwrights and poets to come and discuss their latest work and invites you to come and listen. Run by Victoria University's writing program, the International Institute of Modern Letters, the Writers on Monday series features a mixture of young and emerging writers alongside established and well-known names.

Writers on Mondays will help you add to that growing 'books to read' list on your phone and is a good way to get insight into the writing process itself. Head along on Monday 28 August to hear contributors to a new collection of essays called The Fuse Box discuss all aspects of putting pen to paper/fingerpads to keyboard; from how to start, how to keep going and when to stop (now, I reckon).
