Overview

Towards the bottom end of Cuba Street you will find Stories - the coolest converted container this side of town. The design is sleek and simple; a coffee machine to the right, and the four-seater wooden table to the left. People's coffee is served on the go or in house and a humble selection of soft drinks and sweets are available including their delicious salted caramel biscuits ($4)

Stories believe in promoting a little more than just tasty treats and delicious brews. Their biggest belief is quality and opportunity. Behind the hospitality front Stories is first and foremost a place for the younger generation to gain professional experience in a hospitality work environment. Stories takes the youth under their wing while they learn from some of Wellington's best baristas. Every dollar goes back into the Barista Training Academy of Zeal, a nationwide Youth Trust that aims to transform young people through the creative arts. So far Stories have provided over 600 hours of first-time employment to high-school aged youth.

So next time your out to find your fix, go and visit Stories. Not only is the location central, the coffee fantastic, and the service friendly, and the decor trendy, but you will be also giving back to the people in the cafe community who may one day be opening your future favourite cafe.
