Overview
Arguably the tastiest month of the year, American Express delicious. Month Out celebrates all that makes Australia's beloved dining industry shine.
On offer is the perfect vantage point from which to savour your favourites, make moves on your to-eat list and explore a little further from your culinary-home than usual. There are one-off menus, exclusive events and snazzy discounts to make all of your dining experiences that much nicer.
Plus, 2022 is bringing Adelaide to the party (to join the usual suspects of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane), with the remarkable producers and makers in the bountiful region taking centre stage.
First off, the American Express Shop Small Food Truck will be parking up at Rundle Mall on Friday, May 13, from 11.30am till 3pm. Snacks from some of your favourite local dining digs will be on board — and handed out for free — providing the ultimate opportunity to sample flavours of the city.
On offer at Fino Vino is a bespoke set menu to make Thursday and Friday lunchtimes that much more delicious. The Flinders Street spot is the city outpost of Barossa favourite Fino at Seppeltsfield, which will be delivering a glass of homegrown pinot grigio to sip while you eat. At $50 per person, this midday offering is sure to be popular.
Sticking with the lunch loving is Mt Lofty House, with the venue hosting an idyllic afternoon of fine food on its sprawling Adelaide Hills lawn with Vine and Dine. At the vino-soaked event happening on Sunday, May 15, there will also be live music, gift bags and matched wine to the three-coarse set menu. Presale has be snapped up, so hurry to the website if you're looking to attend.
Over at the Light precinct — the community-focused social enterprise in the middle of Adelaide — Aurora is adding serious flavour to Friday and Saturday lunches. The hyperlocal and sustainability-centric restaurant is offering its six-course tasting menu for $120 per person (saving you a sneaky $20, which you could spend on another dining date in May).
Or, if you're looking for a sambo that will see you be the envy of many, don't miss the exclusive lunch offering (12–3pm) at Arkhé's bar. Thinly sliced strips of slow-cooked beef rump (fresh from the woodfired oven) join pickled walnuts and bone marrow in a stand-out toastie. For $35, you can secure your sandwich with a Pirate Life brew to wash it all down.
On top of the aforementioned deliciousness, you can enjoy 20 percent off your bill (up to $25) when you use your American Express Card at participating venues, including Osteria Oggi, Shobosho, Africola, Le Souk, Whistle & Flute and more.
Head to the website to explore the delicious offerings, best served with Amex.
