Majestic Minima Hotel
If you're willing to travel a touch out of the city, you can snag an eclectic art-filled room here for around $100 a night.
Overview
Even though each compact room in this North Adelaide hotel has the same list of features, your experience will be entirely different depending on which one you pick. Why? Because each room has been customised by a South Australian artist with their own creative take on the space.
Opened in 2013, the 46-room hotel has commissioned artists like Joshua Smith, Naomi Murrell, Nahum Ziersch, Jasmine Crisp, gTuz and Datsun Tran. Muralists, illustrators, painters and magazine journalists have injected their own colourful personality into each 14-square-metre space, so you can pick whether you're in the mood to snooze in a geometric jungle or a watercolour haven.
What unites all the spaces is its modern vibe. Each room is equipped with a king-sized bed, writing desk, mini bar fridge and shower, plus free wifi. Outside your room you'll have use of a guest terrace for some outdoor space and secure underground parking if you travelled with a car.
With rooms starting from $100 per night, it's one of the more affordable ways to stay in Adelaide. Though it's worth noting that you'll be a little out of the way. It's a 30-minute walk, or an 11-minute drive, to Adelaide's CBD.
