Overview
Located in the leafy, eastern corner of Adelaide, Exchange puts perfection on a saucer every time.
If you're a true connoisseur of croissants and black coffee, you'll likely know the challenge of ordering them out. Throwing hard-earned cash at burnt beans and dense, stale pastries is a recipe renowned for heartbreak. On a fragile Monday morning, the risk is not worth taking. The dippy-egg and brioche soldiers must be perfect.
That is why Exchange becomes a regular destination, and a confident suggestion. While it finesses twists on cafe favourites, adding luxury trimmings to variations of eggs and toast, it's Exchange's mastery of simplicity that sets it apart.
As the name suggests, the coffee experience at Exchange is special, and while we may not know Brazilian pulped from Peruvian washed, we can guarantee the staff does.
Offering gentle words of advice, they steers us towards the cup of joe they knows we deserve. They're the kind of people who'll warn us time and time again that a second shot in our double soy latte will likely make the milk split.
Its croissants, danishes and house-made sweets are sourced daily from Adelaide pastry gods Abbots and Kinney, and a steady crowd proves Exchange's faultless consistency.
