For lovers of fromage, the famous Bruny Island Cheese Company should be high on your list when exploring Bruny Island. Get ready to throw back a glass of red and tuck into some of the best cheese in Australia. And while you do so, sit by the fire and tuck into the homemade woodfired bread and quince paste. The cheese is made with traditional techniques, with unpasteurised milk and tastes that change with the seasons. Here, you'll find everything from washed-rinds and hard cheeses to soft, herb-infused, ones wrapped in prosciutto and pinot-washed and wrapped in vine leaves. Plus, there's an on-site brewery serving up pale ales, IPAs, milk stout and a sessionable red ale. This place is reason enough to visit Bruny. Opening hours vary depending on the season, so be sure to call ahead.
