Walt and Burley
The kind of place you can visit for brunch, then return for sundowners.
Overview
As the name suggests, Walt and Burley is perched on the edges of Lake Burley Griffin in Kingston. It's a modern gastropub that boasts views of Canberra's expansive lake and is open all day long.
The breakfast menu features the classics, with brekkie rolls, hotcakes and eggs benedict all present. The main menu follows suit, with the likes of chicken schnitzel, wild mushroom risotto, prawn laksa, and a range of steaks and burgers all on offer.
For the hungry folk among us, there's also a couple of feasting menus ($55/75 per person) that take all decisions out of the equation, plus a takeaway menu heavy on seafood and burgers, if you'd prefer to enjoy your dinner al fresco.
And, of course, no pub is complete without a good selection of beer on taps, local wines and cocktails. One thing to note, the venue is completely cashless and only accepts cards, so skip bringing the loose change and pack the credit card instead.
