Overview

Fugazzi is a New York-inspired Italo-American bar and dining room in the heart of Adelaide's CBD. It's run by Laura and Max Sharrad, who also run Hyde Park pasta favourite Nido, bringing the same pasta-forward sensibility to a bigger, brasher room built around a fire grill and a serious drinks list.

The space splits into a main dining room, a semi-private dining room for up to 20 guests, and the Fugazzi Basement, an exclusive private space for events of up to 100. Between the three, it's set up to handle everything from a casual martini and a plate of pasta to a full sit-down function.

On the menu, expect Italian-American plates like casarecce with cimi di rapa, anchovy, chilli and stracciatella, blistered cabbage with smoked tomato harissa and Jerusalem artichoke, and a grilled beef tongue skewer with green goddess dressing. The centrepiece is the Mayura Station 9+ wagyu bistecca, grilled Florentine-style for the table, and dessert closes things out with a tableside tiramisu.

The drinks list runs through classic cocktails, with the Fugazzi martini  gin, vermouth and a few choice olives  served classic, dirty or filthy, as the house staple.
