You can order everything from Isaan-style larb to fried ice cream at this hatted Thai eatery.
Overview
Awarded one chef's hat in Good Food Guide two years running (2019 and 2020), Morks Restaurant in Kingston serves up contemporary Thai dishes in its bustling, open-plan dining room five days a week.
Diners have two choices when ordering. You can stick to the a la carte menu — which features dishes like nose-to-tail Isaan-style beef larb, shredded duck leg with silken tofu and truffle oil, Chinese eggplant pork buns and fried ice cream — or opt for the tasting menu option. The latter costs $95 per person and includes the venue's best plates, like fishball toast topped with kewpie mayo and smoked Yarra Valley caviar, and a crispy pig lo mien salad.
On the drinks side of things, Morks pours a range of punchy cocktails, beers, malt whiskies, plus predominantly Australian sparkling, white and red tipples.
