Overview

For more than a decade, Canberra's Ona Coffee has been working towards creating the best and most sustainable coffee in the world — and it's not far off it. The best place to taste it is at The Cupping Room, a concept cafe on the corner of University Avenue and London Circuit, where the Ona Coffee team gets a chance to share its passion for coffee with customers through education and inclusion. Not to mention delicious cafe fare and an airy, welcoming vibe.

The award-winning (seriously, Ona is well decorated with past awards for best roast, best espresso and world barista champion) roaster gets quality, sustainable green coffee beans through Project Origin, roasts them to perfection for you to enjoy in your preferred style at The Cupping Room. The extensive coffee menu is something you need to explore for yourself.

The cafe's seasonal all day menu covers simple brekkie favourites like chia and oat bircher with berries and almond clusters ($15), avo with poached eggs, tahini labna and Hungarian dukkah on sourdough ($19) or exotic mushrooms and asparagus with a 63-degree egg and lotus root chips on sourdough ($20). Plus there are some bigger dishes to get you through lunchtime, including a Korean fried chicken burger with, the god of all sauces, kewpie mayo ($12).
