Bo-Bi Bar
This smoky joint allegedly kicked off Copenhagen's 'brown bar' trend and remains a must-visit institution.
Overview
Bo-Bi Bar is one of those special gems that somehow remain as authentic and atmospheric as when it opened. In this case, that was back in 1917. This is possibly Denmark's first 'brown bar' – meaning, a smoke-filled, beer-centred, no-frills venue with usually dark brown interiors lending a warm, old-school charm.
Tucked away in Klareboderne, Bo-Bi Bar has long been an intellectual hang-out, a place where artists, writers, travellers, and all walks of life converge. If you don't mind the smell of smoke, then enjoy your cheap beer amongst the red dim lights and befriend a stranger.
