Overview
The largest of the Aran Islands, Inishmore (Inis Mór)'s relatively flat landscape is perfect for a cycling adventure.
Located 48 kilometres off the coast of Galway, the island can be reached by plane or ferry from Galway Harbour (which we highly recommend). Numerous bike rentals are available by the arrival pier, so you can easily make your way around the island.
The island is home to beautiful beaches, sheer cliffs, natural wonders and ancient structures. From the captivating sea pool, The Wormhole (Poll na bPéist), to the seal colony close to Kilmurvey Beach and the neolithic fort with a sheer drop to the ocean Dun Aengus (Dún Aonghasa) — it's a day trip you wish lasted longer.
On the way back the ferry will bring you by the iconic UNESCO Cliffs of Moher, rising 200 metres and home to Ireland's largest colony of seabirds.
