Overview

Harrods is a department store with a wealth of history, and, well, serious wealth. Once famed as the place where you could buy anything – even a baby elephant – its celebrated halls are a wonderland of luxuries, from food to high-end fashion, furniture, electronics and jewellery. The jaw-dropping decor alone is worth seeing: the splendour of the Egyptian-themed room, the shining Salon de Parfums, the elaborate ceilings of the fresh produce hall and the on-site Halcyon art gallery for serious buyers. If you're loaded, you could do all your grocery shopping here, with the best of British food and imports from around the world, plus a mind-blowing selection of sweets, and freshly made chocolates and cakes. Want a taste of how the other half live? Dine-in options include a caviar house and Champagne bar, French patisserie, formal tea room, rooftop terrace, and even a Prada Caffé and Tiffany Blue Box Cafe.
