Overview

Catch the best view of London from this towering shard of glass and steel that pierces the sky above Southwark. Built in 2012, The Shard was developed by Irvine Sellar and architect Renzo Piano, who looked to the tall ship masts and spires of London for the design. Take a high-speed lift from level 1 to 68 in an ear-popping 60 seconds. From the open-air Skydeck on level 72, you'll have a 360-degree view of up to 40 miles, seeing all the landmarks and suburbs of the sprawling cityscape laid out before you.

The Shard has an array of restaurants and bars scattered across its upper levels, including GŎNG on the 52nd floor (the highest hotel bar in Europe) as well as Hutong restaurant, the Shangri-La hotel Sky Lounge and more. Stay sky-high a while and enjoy unparalleled views, drink in hand.
