Overview

Malta's 190-kilometre coastline offers a diverse array of scuba dive sites, from mysterious caves to sunken ships and towering cliffs. Gozo Island is one location you should definitely add to your Maltese itinerary.

The most recognisable dive is the Gozo Blue Hole in Djwera (west coast), which used to have the backdrop of the Azure Window, which has sadly collapsed in 2017. It's an almost perfectly symmetrical sinkhole that is suitable for divers of all levels — although it's a bit of a journey to get to. Once you're diving, you can explore the numerous caverns, navigate around the fallen Azure Window and check out the reef and its inhabitants.

Whether you're a novice eager to discover what lies beneath or a seasoned pro checking off your bucket list, Malta's dive sites are renowned as some of the best in the world.
